What did you think of the book of Shhh and how it changed stories to fit the new world they were living in?

It seemed realistic to me that the government would alter stories to fit the propaganda they want to perpetuate

The book of Shh was interesting. I liked how she put the stories at the beginning of each chapter.

I love Romeo and Juliet. It couldn't imagine a world with a twisted version of it. Although, the real story is kinda twisted.. But still SO god. (And Leonardo DiCaprio was in the movie).

You're right about that Janet. I read that in Canada, there is no freedom of the press. They get in BiG trouble if they speak out against the government, or the Queen.

it kinda makes sense that they twisted it to become a "cautionary tale" seeing how they killed themselves over love

Freedom of press is important. But there also has to be a respect for leadership that was elected. There should be some trust that they have all the facts and are acting in your best interest. I think that is how Lena felt in the beginning.

I was going to say book 2 of the series, but it seems like we're already doing that and book three on our own.

I've been wanting to read "What Alice Forgot" Here's the description:
SOON TO BE A MAJOR MOTION PICTURE FROM THE DIRECTOR OF THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA
A “cheerfully engaging”* novel for anyone who’s ever asked herself, “How did I get here?” Alice Love is twenty-nine, crazy about her husband, and pregnant with her first child. So imagine Alice’s surprise when she comes to on the floor of a gym (a gym! She HATES the gym) and is whisked off to the hospital where she discovers the honeymoon is truly over — she’s getting divorced, she has three kids, and she’s actually 39 years old. Alice must reconstruct the events of a lost decade, and find out whether it’s possible to reconstruct her life at the same time. She has to figure out why her sister hardly talks to her, and how is it that she’s become one of those super skinny moms with really expensive clothes. Ultimately, Alice must discover whether forgetting is a blessing or a curse, and whether it’s possible to start over…

Sounds good Angie. Haven't really it yet. How about the wine of the month person picks the next months book? Works out since Angie picked this months wine and next months book!
